As a Recreation Therapist, I provide treatment to individuals struggling with an eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating), disordered eating, yo-yo dieting, and under or over exercise issues. My goal is to help clients develop a balanced leisure lifestyle, including creating a healthy exercise plan and appropriate activity levels. Other areas for support may include: developing a healthy social network, mood activity monitoring, leisure interest measures, balance and structure, obsessive focus on productivity, leisure attitudes and values, perfectionism, barriers to leisure, and enhancing play.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts, Sociology. Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, Canada.
  • Post Graduate Certificate, Therapeutic Recreation. Georgian College, Orillia, ON, Canada.

Professional Memberships:

  • Affiliate member of Ontario Association of Consultants, Counselors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP)
  • Registered member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)
  • Professional member of Canadian Fitness Professionals (Canfit Pro)

Referral process and fee:

A referal from a healthcare professional is not required for counselling. However, medically unstable clients will be required to remain under the care of a physician, with whom I may confer, for the duration of treatment.

My fee for a counselling session is $60/hr. I can be contacted at (519) 569-1498 to arrange an appointment.

**Note: Long distance councelling is an option through the use of Skype video.
